README November 2002 DataArchitect version 2.1.2 There are two archive files on this CD, one is for Windows and one is for Linux. We've tested on as many versions of Windows and Linux as we could get our hands on and everything seems to work. There is no installer because it really isn't needed. Just de-archive the appropriate file on your machine and the directory structure will be built. There is a sub-directory for examples and another one for documentation. Remember, with your purchase of this version you are entitled to free upgrades up to and including version 2.0 when you register your software, so follow the links under the 'Help' menu to get registered today. We don't use your information for anything other than allowing upgrades. You can also use the following URL if you have trouble, the registration number is on the inside of the DVD case. http://register:now@www.thekompany.com/products/register/register.php3 These files built on RedHat 8.0. You must have a very recent (i.e. gcc 3.x enabled) Linux. Install in this order; 1. tkHelp 2. CBD-Common 3. other-package-in-any-order If rpm complains about qt3 not being installed and you know it is then just pass --nodeps to rpm. This happens on RedHat 8.0 but not on SuSE 8.1. Documentation is installed in /usr/doc. Start by reading relevant doc in CBD-Common. theKompany.com, Inc. CodeByDesign
